Jon Carroll wrote a memorable column related to the topic of offensive humor called "Nothing is Not Funny;" see it here http://bit.ly/AXd4z.<BR/><BR/>I worry about the trend of chastising people when they make innocent comments like President Obama's, as it seems like outrage is the first response of various advocates. The fear of innocently saying something wrong can make people avoid those who are different, especially when they've seen others get dressed down.<BR/><BR/>How about less outrage and shaming, and more humor and tolerance for innocent mistakes?
